Toolbox Pilates FAQ

Cancellations, No-Shows & Waitlist
What is your cancellation policy?
We have a strict 12-hour cancellation policy. Any cancellations or changes made less than 12 hours before class time will result in a forfeited session or fee (see below for details by package type).
What happens if I late cancel or no-show?
- All Clients: Late cancellations (less than 12 hours) result in a loss of session
- Unlimited Package Holders:
- Late cancellation: $15 fee
No-show: $30 fee
What if I’m on the waitlist?
- If a class is full, we encourage you to join the waitlist
- If you are added to class from the waitlist, the 12-hour cancellation policy still applies
- If you no longer wish to attend, you must remove yourself from the waitlist at least 12 hours in advance to avoid a penalty
- You are responsible for any class you’re automatically added to
- Make sure you’re subscribed to confirmation texts to receive waitlist notifications!
Class Logistics & Studio Etiquette
I'm new to Pilates. What should I know?
- Arrive 5–10 minutes early to meet your instructor and get familiar with the studio
- Wear comfortable, form-fitting workout attire so you can move easily through class and so your instructor can see your form
- Bring your own bottle of water – we do not have a water filling station
We recommend starting with our New Client 5-Class Intro Package and completing 5-10 beginner classes before progressing to intermediate
Do I need to wear grip socks?
No – grip socks are not required
How do I reserve a class?
Book your spot through the Mindbody app or ClassPass
How do I schedule a private session?
Email our Studio Manager, Annika, directly at pilates@thetoolboxdc.com
Can I use my phone in class?
To support your mind-body connection, we ask that phones be silenced and not used during class. In case of emergency, please step outside the studio to take a call or message
Can I wear headphones in class?
We kindly ask that you refrain from using headphones in class
Special Considerations
I’m pregnant. Can I take a group class?
- First, get your doctor’s approval
- If cleared, we highly recommend doing 1–3 private sessions before joining a group class. This helps us provide safe and effective prenatal modifications
- Please inform your instructor before class if you’re pregnant
- We recommend sticking to Beginner and Intermediate classes
Jumpboard classes are not suitable for prenatal clients
